Rachel Zobel

Welcome!
I am a Ph.D. Candidate at University of Delaware studying Water Science and Policy in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering in Dr. Carolyn Voter's lab.
My work and research interests are rooted in utilizing an interdisciplinary approach to address challenges surrounding effectively managing freshwater resources and stormwater runoff to sustainably maximize ecosystem services and co-benefits while ensuring water quality standards are met and infrastructure is adequate.
Education
I am currently earning my Ph.D. from University of Delaware. I've completed a master's degree from University of Pennsylvania (2020) and bachelor's degree from Gwynedd Mercy University (2018).
Research
My contributions to various research projects are diverse and consist of employing a wide range of laboratory and fieldwork methodologies to answer questions within several scientific sub-disciplines.
Teaching
I have five years experience in higher education working as an adjunct professor in lecture, laboratory, and online settings at two Universities for non-science majors in general education courses.
Policy
I value collaborative efforts between science and policy to better understand challenges, knowledge gaps, and stakeholder perspectives with the goal of achieving the most effective outcomes for related projects.
Professional Experience
I've held professional appointments at nonprofit organizations and state government agencies working on initiatives relevant to environmental education, conservation, stewardship, and invasive species control.
Misc. Experience
I have over ten years experience working and volunteering at different organizations fulfilling a range of responsibilities in various roles. I also have experience participating in conferences and leadership programs.
